Northern Scotland is a cross-disciplinary journal which addresses historical, cultural, economic, political and geographical themes relating to the Highlands & Islands and the north-east of Scotland. Initially produced by the University of Aberdeen in 1972, it has now been relaunched by Edinburgh University Press. Edited by a board of contributors, reviewers and referees, it draws on a range of experts from across the world. EUP chose my drawing of snowy Birkenhills for the cover of their first volume.
